Hybrid Dion-Jacobson oxides containing Molecular Cations
Abstract: We propose to collect neutron powder diffraction data from a series of A NdNb2O7 (A = H3O, NH4, MeNH4, H2en) organic-inorganic hybrid materials to accurately determine their crystal structures and thus deduce the role of the molecular component in determining the structural distortion adopted by the oxide framework. In addition we will collect data at low temperature to characterise the order/disorder transition associated with the orientation of the molecular fragments.
