Magnetic structure of candidate topological magnet DyNixSn2 (x=0.2, 1)
Abstract: YNiSn2 has been proposed as a Dirac semimetal in a very recent study. We have successfully synthesised the magnetic analogue of it, DyNiSn2, along with a Ni deficient variant DyNi0.2Sn2. We propose to investigate the magnetic structure of this new candidate topological magnet, using single crystal and powder neutron diffraction measurements at the WISH instrument. Knowledge of the magnetic structure is crucial to theoretically predict and experimentally verify the topological states possible in this family of materials. WISH is ideal for this study with its proven ability to obtain high quality data on highly absorbing samples.
