Probing the interaction of liposomal delivery systems with model Gram-negative bacterial cell envelopes

Abstract: The proposal is focused on the interaction of different liposome compositions with a model of the outer leaflet of the other membrane (OM) at air/water interface. We have investigated the interaction of 2 types of liposome with the model OM outer leaflet using a combination of Langmuir trough and ellipsometry experiments and more recently neutron reflectivity (RB2520346). This proposal is to request one further day of beam time to perform a few samples to complete the neutron studies performed under RB2520346 in order to be able to publish the data in a high impact factor journal. One sample of DPPC-DOPE-DOTAP liposomes takes 3 h (1 h kinetics + 1 h post kinetics +1 h sample change) d-LPS/h-E.coli polar extracts + h-liposomes in ACMW h-LPS/d-E.coli polar extracts + h-liposomes in ACMW h-LPS/h-E.coli polar extracts + d-d-DPPC-liposomes in ACMW h-LPS/h-E.coli polar extracts + d-d-DOPE-liposomes in ACMW h-LPS/h-E.coli polar extracts + h-liposomes in ACMW (reference)
