Studies of pressure dependent phase behaviour in LaCo1-xRhxO3 (x = 0.1 and 0.3)

Abstract: Cobalt based perovskites have attracted extensive attention due to their unique charge and spin-state flexibility, resulting in intriguing structure-property relationships. The parent material, LaCoO3 exhibits a series of complex temperature driven electronic and spin state transitions. Doping the La site with Rh stabilises Co in the +3 oxidation state with increasing Rh content driving a phase transition from rhombohedral to orthorhombic. We are interested in the effects of applied pressure for materials which sit either sider of this transition. These data will allow us to correlate the complex phenomena observed in these materials with chemical pressure (doping studies) to provide new insight into the complexities of these materials. Please note this is a resubmission.
