Elucidating the Local Structural Environments of Cesium Oxide?Tellurium Dioxide Glasses for Optical Applications
Abstract: A detailed understanding of local structure is crucial for advancing the performance of optical materials. Incorporating Group 1 alkali metal oxides (Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs) into tellurite glasses can effectively modify the coordination environment of tellurium, enabling control over key optical properties such as refractive index, band gap, and nonlinearity. Among these, cesium?tellurite glasses show promise due to their unique optical behavior. However, their structural features remain largely unexplored, especially via neutron diffraction. This proposal seeks to address this gap by investigating the short-range structure of Cs?O?TeO? glasses and correlated with their optical properties.
