Study of spin dynamics and quantum criticality in a Yb-based triangular Kondo lattice system.
Abstract: Quantum criticality refers to a phase transition driven by quantum fluctuations at absolute zero temperature. Near a quantum critical point, these quantum fluctuations dominate, giving rise to exotic quantum phases such as non-Fermi liquid state. Heavy fermion (HF) compounds, which are quantum materials with strong electronic correlations, have long been a fertile ground for investigating quantum critical phenomena. The proposed experiments will leverage the unique capabilities of muon spin relaxation (?SR) measurements to probe spin dynamics and investigate the potential field-induced quantum criticality in the YbV6Sn6 heavy-fermion triangular Kondo lattice system.
