Elemental Analyses of Sodium-ion Battery Cathode Materials
Abstract: We request 6 days on the INES Instrument to study the elemental composition of four prototypic layered sodium-ion transition metal oxide battery cathode powders. This proposal is part of a fundamental and experimental approach where ICP-MS, high resolution neutron and X-ray powder diffraction, neutron activation analysis (NAA) and neutron resonance transmission imaging (NRTI) will be used to evaluate prototypic high-power performing sodium-ion materials. The principal benefit of INES is the ability to ratify (i) final sodium content after synthesis and (ii) precise doping of low-concentration of pillaring ions.
