Exploring the exotic magnetism in Rhenium-based double perovskites using muon spin rotation

Abstract: Rhenium (Re)-based double perovskites (DP) A2FeReO6 (A = Ba, Sr, Ca) are a particularly intriguing class due to their high magnetic Curie temperatures, metallic-like, half-metallic or insulating behaviours, and large carrier spin polarization. Such perovskites have the potential to exhibit rich electronic structures and complex magnetic structures owing to the strong interplays between the strongly localized 3d electrons and more delocalized 5d electrons with strong spin-orbit coupling. Recently, we have measured Ba2Co0.5Fe0.5ReO6. on the HIFI µSR beam line (RB2310695) and to understand the spin-orbital couple and disorder in the system, we would like to study the Sr2Co0.5Fe0.5ReO6. Due to limited time on HiFi, we could only collect zero-field (ZF)-SR data on Sr2Co0.5Fe0.5ReO6 (TC=300 K) between 10 K and 180K. Here we request beam time on HiFi to complete the ZF up to TC and longitudinal field (LF) measurements on Sr2Co0.5Fe0.5ReO6.
