Assessment of the Levitation Effect by Quasielastic Neutron Scattering. Is There a Role for Phonons?
Abstract: In certain circumstances it has been shown that a molecule confined in a pore can diffuse at a higher rate than might be expected as the guest 'levitates' in the pore centre and does not adhere to the pore wall. We want to investigate this effect and the role of phonon-coupling using a well defined model system.
