DM Xpress proposal: Combined SANS and total scattering measurement of octacosane C24H50
Abstract: As part of the Ada Lovelace Centre funded MuSSIC project we would like to measure a simple macromolecular system with structure at atomistic and longe range lengthscale. A good compromise between system tractability and being big enough to be considered a macromolecule is octacosane. A simple 2 carbon bead Coarse-Grain (CG) simulation model exists for this molecule, allowing us to test both atomistic and CG scattering calculation and refinement methodologies.
