Probing the ground state Magnetic structure of Ni4Nb2O9 single crystal
Abstract: Magnetization reversal (MR) referred to negative magnetization, is a specific magnetic behaviour in which the magnetization of a material opposes the applied magnetic field. This phenomenon usually involves two or more magnetic substructures with different temperature dependencies, which are antiferromagnetically coupled. One such example is the Ni4Nb2O9, it exhibits orthorhombic symmetry with two different point groups Fd2d and Pbcn. To clarify the magnetic anisotropic nature at different temperatures, single crystal neutron measurements are essential. We have grown a stochiometric Ni4Nb2O9 single crystal and characterised using single crystal x-ray and magnetometry.
