Succesive magnetic and structural transitions between a linear magnetoelectricity and multiferroism in a single compound
Abstract: Magnetoelectric and multiferroic compounds are essential in developing multi-functional applications such as energy-saving devices. They are usually classified into linear magnetoelectricity and multiferroics, depending on how the electric polarisation pairs with magnetism. It is crucial to find new materials with a novel coupling and understand their microscopic mechanism. In this project, we aim to explore a rare realisation of these two phenomena in a single compound to understand their unconventionally coupled states.
