Identifying Topological Phonons in ?-Ga2O3 Single Crystals
Abstract: ?-Ga2O3 is one of the promising candidates for hosting topological phonons and multi-gap topology. Our previous INS experiment at the triple axis spectrometer IN8, ILL, suggested the presence of topological phonons in ?-Ga2O3. However, the limited momentum space access to phonon dispersion data hindered definitive conclusions. Here, we propose to use the time-of-flight INS spectrometer Merlin to measure the phonon dispersion of ?-Ga2O3 across wide momentum and energy space. This will allow us to verify the presence of topological phonons and investigate multi-gap topology in ?-Ga2O3.
