Microscopic ?SR investigation of superconducting ground state of possible Z2-topological metal

Abstract: This proposal aims to study the superconducting properties of possible Z2 -topological metal MRhGe 2 (M = Zr, Hf) compounds with superconducting transition temperatures of 3.1 and 3.0 K, respectively. Our preliminary band structure analysis reveals symmetry-enforced band crossings at high-symmetry points, indicating that MRhGe 2 (M = Zr, Hf) compounds are likely Z2 topological metals. The interplay of a non-trivial band structure, strong spin-orbit coupling, a non-symmorphic crystal structure, and the potential for time-reversal symmetry breaking in D 2h point group compounds makes MRhGe 2 (M = Zr, Hf) promising candidates for realizing unconventional superconductivity. This research will provide valuable insights into the intricate relationship between topology, crystal structure, and spin-orbit coupling (SOC), which is essential for comprehending topological superconductivity.
