A comparative study of spin excitations in inverse Spinels: Co2TiO4 and Mg2TiO4
Abstract: We plan to measure the spin excitations in two inverse spinel compounds, Co2TiO4 and Mg2TiO4 to understand the magnetic Hamiltonian and the origin of ferrimagnetic and magnetic compensation behavior. The recent neutron powder diffraction and other macroscopic studies have revealed a complex magnetic structure below ferrimagnetic ordering temperature.To resolve this problem requires an understanding of the magnetic Hamiltonian and the exchange interactions.
