Structural Evolution of Pillared Sodium-ion Layered Transition Metal Oxide Cathode Materials via Operando Neutron Diffraction
Abstract: Proposal request for the use of POLARIS instrument in TS1 at ISIS to investigate structural phase evolution of low-cost sodium-ion battery layered transition metal oxide cathode materials via operando neutron diffraction. This experiment would allow us to determine the detailed structures of 2 different Na content cathode materials P2 and P3 phase) at different states of charge by probing both the alkali metal and transition metal layer orderings of atoms and investigate how dopants in the alkali metal layer impact these interactions.
