PDF studies of non-stoichiometric SrxTi1-yCryO3-? (x ? 1, y < 1) perovskite photocatalysts for enhanced hydrogen production

Abstract: Hydrogen, as a clean and renewable energy source, has driven significant research across electro-, photo-, and thermo-chemical routes. In our study, we developed a series of R-Pt/SrxTi1-yCryO3-? (x ? 1, y < 1) samples that demonstrated efficient photocatalytic H2 production in visible light, ranking top among relative work. The oxygen vacancy could occur due to non-stoichiometry and Cr doping (Cr3+ and Cr6+ mixture) in the sample preparation process. During post hydrogenation process, oxygen vacancies further increase. The aim of this proposal would be to do neutron diffraction patterns (NDP) experiments and PDF analysis to understand the changes in local structure, lattice strain, oxygen vacancies and M-O (M=Ti, Cr) interactions within the as-prepared materials.
