Pressure-induced formation of a new dihydrate of lithium hydroxide.
Abstract: It has recently been proposed that lithium hydroxide may form a dihydrate structure, distinct from the known monohydrate phase. However, there is currently no known structure for this material, only that it forms under high pressure conditions where lithium hydride is compressed in aqueous conditions. We therefore propose to use PEARL to revisit this problem, in an attempt to confirm the formation of a new structure, and solve the structure.
