Spin liquid behaviour in the single-layer Ising triangular lattice antiferromagnet YbTa7O19
Abstract: The compound YbTa7O19 consists of triangular layers of antiferromagnetically coupled Yb3+ spins and shows no sign of magnetic order at temperatures down to 2 K. It is a candidate spin liquid compound and the aim of this muon study is firstly to test to see whether it remains in a fluctuating state down to milliKelvin temperatures, and secondly to use longitudinal field measurements to probe the spin correlation function and test against models of spin diffusion in frustrated systems.
