Investigation of Crystal Field Levels in Nd-Based Scheelite compound Nd2GeMoO8

Abstract: Frustrated magnetism is a key focus in condensed matter physics due to its suppression of conventional magnetic long-range order, leading to various disordered ground states . Rare earth (4f) based antiferromagnets (AFMs), with strong spin-orbit coupling (SOC) and crystal electric field (CEF) interactions have become promising systems for exploring exotic quantum states.The objective of this proposal is to experimentally determine the crystal electric field (CEF) levels of the newly synthesized Nd?GeMoO? compound, facilitating a more precise characterization of its magnetic ground state.
