Field evolution of the triangular spin-liquid candidate KYbS2
Abstract: We propose single-crystal neutron diffraction experiment on the triangular spin-liquid candidate KYbS2. We will probe the nature of three field-induced ordered states detected in our thermodynamic measurements and also study the evolution of the magnetic Bragg peaks toward zero field where quantum spin-liquid state is expected, but a 2D ordered state can not be ruled out. Additionally, we will probe the evolution of the lattice in the temperature range around 0.5 K where conventional scaling between heat capacity and thermal expansion breaks down. Our results will help to evaluate the spin-liquid candidacy of KYbS2.
