Crystal field excitations in a triangular-lattice quantum spin liquid material RbNdSe2
Abstract: RbNdSe2 is a new, previously unexplored species of a recently discovered large family of quantum spin liquid candidates with delafossite structure. We propose to use inelastic neutron scattering to study the crystal field excitations and determine the wavefunction of the ground state Kramer?s doublets and the magnetic anisotropy. The results are essential for understanding the novel low-energy spin dynamics due to correlations.
