Fracton correlations in the square-lattice spiral spin-liquid candidate Sr2FeO4
Abstract: Fractons are novel excitations with highly exotic transport properties, yet their experimental observation in real spin systems is still missing. Here we propose an inelastic neutron scattering experiment on MAPS to study the spin dynamics in a square-lattice compound Sr2FeO4, where fracton excitations may appear as the low-energy excitations of the spiral spin liquid state. Our proposed experiments may provide evidence for the first spiral spin liquid host on a square lattice and verify the theoretically proposed fracton physics.
