Polarized neutron reflectivity of interfacial magnetism in PtTe2/altermagnetic CrSb
Abstract: We propose to measure time-reversal symmetry breaking in altermagnetic heterostructures incorporating CrSb and the Dirac semimetal PtTe2. These heterostructures exhibit a switchable anomalous Hall effect near room-temperature in conjunction with vanishingly small net magnetzation, and are consequently extremely promising for low-energy, high-efficiency memory applications. PNR is critical to understanding the origin of this effect and differentiating between magnetic proximity effects and altermagnetic spin accumulation.
