Long-periodicity magnetic spirals and possible field-induced magnetic skyrmions in topological kagome metals Er1-xTbxMn6Sn6

Abstract: It has recently been realised that TbMn6Sn6 and the related magnetic kagome metals stand out as a unique quantum material system that boasts emergent topologically non-trivial states in both k-space and real space. Understanding and eventual manipulation of these exotic quantum states can lead to potential technological applications in spintronics and quantum technologies. However, the identification of long-periodicity magnetic spirals and the field-induced magnetic skyrmions in TbMn6Sn6 have not been achieved with neutron diffraction. We therefore propose to carry out a comprehensive SANS study on both TbMn6Sn6 and the related Er0.75Tb0.25Mn6Sn6 single crystals at ZOOM or SANS2D. 5 days of measurement time are necessary.
