Copy of BaFeGaO4: a chiral, polar antiferromagnet
Abstract: Designing non-centrosymmetric (including chiral, poplar) functional materials capable of long-range magnetic order is challenging and most research focuses on only a fairly small number of materials families. The stuffed tridymite family, named after the silicate mineral, includes a wide range a crystal structure symmetries compatible with a range of properties, and can often include magnetic ions. We've prepared an iron-containing material and are keen to use neutron diffraction to determine its crystal and magnetic structures.
