Probing ion structure and correlation in tetrabutylphosphonium tetra(pyrazolato)borate
Abstract: Tetrabutylphosphonium tetra(pyrazolato)borate is under investigation as an example of an organic ionic plastic crystalline material containing novel N-coordinated borate anions and is of interest as a prototype for non-fluorous plastic crystal and ionic liquid electrolytes for electrochemical cells. This proposal will examine the origins of differences between cation and anion mobility across the plastic crystal and liquid phase regions of this materials (from ~rt-70 C) that have been observed from multinuclear ssNMR spectroscopy.
