Possible quantum spin liquid phase in the S=1/2 frustrated cubic lattice Y3Cu2Sb3O14

Abstract: We have identified a new Cu-based system, Y3Cu2Sb3O14 which appears to have a geometrically frustrated 3D network of S=1/2 Cu2+ ions. Our measurements suggest a lack of magnetic order down to 2 K in Y3Cu2Sb3O14 in spite of an antiferromagnetic Curie Weiss temperature, ?CW = -17.6 K. For temperatures above 2 K, our ac susceptibility, and magnetization data obey temperature-magnetic field scaling, indicative of the formation of 3D random singlets/ Quantum spin liquids (QSL) phase. Through ?SR, we propose to explore the spin dynamics at low T in the above compound to look for evidence of QSL behavior. We propose zero-field and longitudinal-field ?SR measurements in the temperature range of 50 mK to 100 K to achieve our objectives.
