Understanding the spin dynamics in the kagome antiferromagnet Li9Fe3P8O29
Abstract: The kagome antiferromagnet Li9Fe3P8O29 exhibits a theoretically predicted 1/3 magnetization plateau that has been elusive in real materials. Here we propose an inelastic neutron scattering experiment on LET to study the spin dynamics in Li9Fe3P8O29 and verify its kagome physics. By comparing the experimental results with spin wave calculations, we will be able to determine the spin Hamiltonian for Li9Fe3P8O29 and understand the origin of the 1/3 magnetization plateau.
