Scattering and refraction of cylindrical structures in SESANS

Abstract: Refraction effects in neutron scattering experiments are often ignored. In this work we will explore a model system of cylindrical fibres where preliminary experiments in Delft have shown systems which exhibit both scattering and refraction. In this work we will explore a model system of aligned fibres where we can tilt the angle between the encoding access to change the contributions of scattering and refraction to the SESANS signal. Understanding of these types of system will be essential to model our data and apply this to similar systems.
