Spin dynamics of a triangular-lattice quantum spin liquid candidate K2Co(SeO3)2
Abstract: Quantum fluctuations stabilize novel collective phenomena in frustrated spin systems, such as quantum spin liquids (QSL) and magnetization plateaus. Here we propose to use inelastic neutron scattering (INS) to investigate the spin dynamics of a triangular-lattice quantum spin liquid candidate K2Co(SeO3)2. This compound exhibits strong magnetic frustration and field-induced magnetization plateaus, but no long-range order is found down to 0.35 K at zero field. Unlike many QSL candidates, K2Co(SeO3)2 shows no signature of structural disorders which is known to complicate the interpretation of the INS data, and it has an easy-axis type anisotropy. We will study the magnetic excitations in both the potential QSL phase at zero field and the field-induced plateau phase. Our results would uncover the exotic spin dynamics of a QSL material without complexities due to structural disorder.
