Neutron diffraction study of Ga and Al-doped MnNiGe alloys under external magnetic field

Abstract: Magnetic equiatomic alloys (MEAs) of the general formula MM?X (M, M? = transition metals, X = Si, Ge, Sn) undergo magnetostructural transition of martensitic type on cooling from high temperature. In this proposal, our aim is to focus on the effect of external magnetic field on the magnetic structure of two Ge-site doped MnNiGe alloys of nominal compositions MnNiGe0.9Al0.1 and MnNiGe0.928Ga0.072 where magnetic structure plays a crucial role behind their magneto-functionality. We have already performed ambient pressure neutron diffraction measurement in zero field previously and published our results in Physical Review B.
