Inversion degree dependence with oxygen vacancies and temperature effects on MFe2O4 (M = Co, Zn) spinels
Abstract: Mixed spinel oxides, with general formula AB2O4, have been identified as potential photocatalysts for the water splitting process, a promising method to produce hydrogen. These oxides are highly compositionally diverse and tuneable with respect to their cation distribution; however, this cation distribution (inversion degree) may vary depending on various factors, such as the cation type, particle size or synthesis method. This proposal aims to investigate in-situ the inversion degree evolution on the structure of CoFe2O4 and ZnFe2O4 powder samples, and its dependance on both temperature and oxygen vacancies.
