Calibration Standards for Spin-echo modulated small angle neutron scattering (SEMSANS)
Abstract: As a relatively new experimental technique Spin-echo modulated small angle neutron scattering (SEMSANS) does not have an established calibration standard. Such a standard would be used to validate results and would allow comparisons between different SEMSANS instruments. This Experiment will asses the validity of colloidal crystals, formed by a drying pattern of silica nanoparticles, as a sample for the calibration of SEMSANS instruments. When measured using SEMSANS, the well ordered structure formed by silica nanoparticles coated with a polymer stabilizer will for a periodic function. This experiment will also asses the stability of these samples in humid conditions.
