Skyrmion bubble dynamics in NdMn2Ge2

Abstract: Skyrmionic spin configurations, including skyrmions, skyrmion lattices and skyrmionic bubbles, continue to attract much attention. Most skyrmionic spin configurations are observed in transition-metal-based magnets, and we lack examples of rare-earth-based magnets hosting such spin configurations, especially at room temperature. Here we propose measurements on NdMn2Ge2, a centrosymmetric system that hosts high-density hexagonal lattices of skyrmionic bubbles, including at zero applied magnetic field. As part of a project to investigate this system, we will make muon measurements to investigate the skyrmion bubble dynamics following field-cooling protocols.
