Examination of spin-spin correlation of newly synthesized trimer-based triangular antiferromagnets
Abstract: Molecular magnetism has been intensively studied owing to a new opportunity to explore unconventional electronic phases due to the uniquely combined states of a few magnetic ions. The characteristic feature is a molecular orbital state, where electrons are delocalised and shared by several magnetic ions nearby, which a conventional localised electron picture cannot describe. In this proposal, we focus on trimer-based hexagonal perovskites based on face-sharing magnetic octahedra searching for the molecular orbital state by performing neutron diffraction measurements on high-quality polycrystalline samples.
