Magnon Dispersions in the Centrosymmetric Skyrmion Host GdRu2Si2
Abstract: We aim to understand the magnetic interactions in the centrosymmetric skyrmion host GdRu2Si2. Our neutron diffraction studies have identified a rich set of topologically distinct magnetic structures, including one-dimensional topological charge stripes, skyrmions and merons. We intend to examine the set of magnon dispersions across the phase diagram of this material, which will help to deduce the Hamiltonian of this system. This particular material is well suited to these measurements since the magnetic unit cell is unusually small, and the Gilbert damping of the Gd is light, therefore reducing the number of dispersions considerably and making them more straightforward to resolve.
