The magnetically ordered phases of the centrosymmetric skyrmion candidate EuAl2Ga2
Abstract: We propose an experiment to explore both the zero field and field induced magnetic order in the centrosymmetric candidate skyrmion host EuAl2Ga2. The proposed zero field measurements on this system will allow us to explore the mechanisms driving the spin reorientation phase transition observed in this system, which is of interest given the Eu2+ ions are expected to be isotropic, and is therefore suggestive that there may be a complex source of anisotropy present in the material. While the field induced measurements will allow us to explore where the A-phase of this material stabilises a skyrmion lattice.
