NR Study of Co-adsorption of a Monoclonal Antibody and Nonionic Surfactant at the Amphiphilically Modified SiO2/Water Interface
Abstract: From spectroscopic ellipsometry and AFM studies of the adsorption of antibody COE-3 and nonionic surfactant Tween 80 at the UV-treated TMOS layer/water interface, large differences in the adsorbed amount for antibody and surfactant were observed from different adsorption sequences, indicating different impacts of local environments on molecular interactions. This neutron reflection work will help determine how COE-3 and surfactant mix in the adsorbed layer under different sequential adsorption processes. This study constitutes an important part of our systematic efforts to understand how surface chemical nature affects adsorbed mAb structures and causes structural deformation. We require 3 days of beam time for the proposed experiment. Inter is preferred for better structural resolution over the entire Q range and following fast dynamic adsorption processes.
