Spectrum of new 3-dimensional Quantum Magnet formed from triangular and hexagonal units
Abstract: Quantum magnets formed from spin-1/2 ions, show a range of exotic phenomena such as quantum critical scaling and spinon excitations as found in one-dimensional antiferromagnets, gapped excitations due to spin pairing in dimerized magnets and coherently fluctuating ground states as in frustrated quantum spin liquids. Here we wish to investigate the magnetic properties of a unique cubic quantum magnet Cu3WO6, which consists of a three-dimensional arrangement or hexagons coupled by triangles and which does not develop long-range magnetic order even down to lowest temperatures.
