Magnetic order under pressure in the unconventional superconductor UTe2

Abstract: The discovery of superconductivity below Tsc = 1.6 K in the heavy fermion paramagnet UTe2 has attracted a lot of attention in the past three years due to the possible realization of a triplet superconducting state. Exciting experimental key features of UTe2 are the re-entrance of superconductivity under magnetic field, the presence of multiple superconducting phases as well as a pressure induced magnetically ordered phase. The study of the interplay between magnetism and superconductivity is a key point in such systems where superconductivity is believed to be mediated by magnetic fluctuations. The aim of the present proposal is to determine the nature of the magnetic ordering under pressure in UTe2.
