Using spin-echo SANS to study micrometer-scale PMMA latexes
Abstract: Sterically-stabilised PMMA latexes in nonpolar solvents are an excellent model spherical colloid used in numerous studies in colloid science. There is limited long length scale, small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) data of these latexes, and none on the micrometer sized colloids that are frequently used. This experiment will use the spin-echo SANS (SESANS) technique to measure the scattering from a well-characterised dispersion of PMMA latexes in dodecane to establish optimal measurement conditions.
