Chalibration of the standard samples of the VSANS instrument of CSNS
Abstract: Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) instrument is a powerful tool for the characterization of structure in materials ranging from 1 nanometer to hundreds of nanometers. A new SANS instrument at China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) called VSANS is going to be completed at the end of 2022 and joins the SANS community to serve the global scientific community. Before carrying out any experiments, it must be calibrated with a reliable existing SANS instrument like the well-known benchmark instrument SANS2D. Well-known standard samples like polystyrene/deuterated polystyrene (PS/d-PS), glassy carbon, silver behenate et al. have been prepared. All these samples will be first measured at SANS2D and then at the CSNS-VSANS for the absolute intensity and resolution calibration of the newly built instrument.
