Investigation of the magnetic correlations of MnSi in 3D
Abstract: The recent discovery of skyrmions and skyrmion lattices in materials with no inversion symmetry and their corresponding potential applications of Skyrmions in magnetic information storage and processing devices has increased the scientific interest in these chiral materials. The archetype chiral system is MnSi, on which various studies have been performed. Recent findings point out to new mechanisms for stabilising new chiral magnetic phases and skyrmion correlations at low temperatures. In order to test the validity of these predictions we propose to map the magnetic correlations of MnSi in 3D by using the unique capabilities of the 3D magnetic field cryomagnet of ISIS.
