A structural study of molten salt ? zeolite solid electrolytes
Abstract: The crystal structure of a molten salt (MS) ? zeolite solid electrolyte (MS@Z) will be investigated by ex-situ neutron powder diffraction. Information will be obtained about the location of MSs and Li ions within the zeolite framework. It will help us to interpret the interactions between MSs, Li ions, and the zeolite framework in the MS@Z solid electrolyte. Results will help us to interpret how interactions between MSs, Li ions, and the zeolite framework control the electrochemical performance of the MS@Z solid electrolyte. This work will lead to the rational design of solid-state electrolytes with ideal electrochemical performance and safety to replace organic electrolytes used in common energy storage systems.
