Reciprocal Space Tomography of the Tilted Low temperature Skyrmion State in Cu2OSeO3
Abstract: Skyrmions are magnetic, vortex-like whirls of magnetisation which have received great theoretical and experimental attention due to their interesting physics and potential to be used in spintronic devices. A low temperature skyrmion (LTS) phase (<20 K) in Cu2OSeO3 was found to form under the application of a magnetic field parallel with a [100] direction. We wish to investigate the effect of tilting the magnetic field on the LTS, and investigate their formation and stability. We intend to do this by creating novel, state-of-the-art reciprocal space tomograms of 3D reciprocal space to completely characterise the tilted LTS, allowing us to disentangle the anisotropic interactions required for their formation.
