Investigation of interfacial magnetism in LPCMO/LSMO heterostructures
Abstract: Pr, Ca co-doped LaMnO3 exhibits a variety of complex physical properties owing to the competition of different structural, magnetic and electronic degrees of freedom. The fraction of these competing phases is highly sensitive to external parameters such as temperature, magnetic field and stoichiometry etc. Co-existence of these different magnetic phases such as metallic ferromagnetic (FM) and charge ordered antiferromagnetic (CO-AFM) etc. at different temperatures provides a unique opportunity to study different types of magnetic proximity effects in heterostructures LPCMO and other magnetic oxides. We plan to investigate the depth dependent magnetic structure and emergent magnetism at different temperatures of La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO)/LPCMO1 and LSMO/LPCMO2 heterostructures (where LPCMO1 and LPCMO2 are (La0.4Pr0.6)1-xCaxMnO3 system with x = 3/8 and x=1/3) grown on NdGaO3 substrates.
