[NCNR/NIST] Depth-profiling magnetic behavior at Weyl Mn3Ge/ferromagnet interfaces
Abstract: In the proposed experiments, we will use PNR to elucidate exchange coupling at Mn3Ge/FM heterointerfaces. In doing so, we will address the following fundamental questions: Does the adjacent ferromagnet induce a magnetization within Mn3+?Ge? Does the presence of Mn3+?Ge suppress magnetism with the ferromagnetic layer at the interface? How does the composition of the Mn3+?Ge film impact the interfacial magnetism? The proposed experiments will be complemented by measurements of the spin Hall effect to provide a detailed understanding on how the interfacial magnetic profile impacts the spin-orbit torques in these heterostructures.
