Spin-liquid physics of CuIrO3 and ZnIrO3
Abstract: We seek to explore the spin dynamics and the tentative spin-liquid phase in our newly discovered compounds ZnIrO3 and CuIrO3, which are chemical modification of beta-Li2IrO3 (frustrated Kitaev magnet). Our thermodynamic measurements reveal the absence of long-range magnetic ordering in both componds down to at least 1.8 K. Using muons as a powerful method for investigating frustrated systems, we want to to explore the ground state of ZnIrO3 and CuIrO3 and reveal details of spin dynamics in it or detect the coexistence of dynamic and static spins and quantify their ratio.
