Spin fluctuations of Eu-doped La2-xSrxCuO4 in a magnetic field
Abstract: The pseudogap is universal feature of hole-doped cuprate superconductors. It is associated with electronic order, persists across much of the cuprate phase diagram and may terminate at a quantum critical point (QCP) with doping level p*. A recent study of the electronic heat capacity in La2-xSrxCuO4 used a combination of Eu for La substitution and a 9 Tesla magnetic field to suppress superconductivity at low temperature ~1K. This revealed a normal state with very high heat capacity near p*. We propose to investigate spin excitations under the same conditions to determine if these can account for the observed behaviour.
